Striker Fred gave yet another proof that he really should return to Fluminense soon. The striker, who managed to leave Cruzeiro after going to court, promised Wednesday night that he will return to the Rio club. The confession was made during an interview by a “live” on Instagram.
When asked if he would return to Fluminense, the striker responded immediately. “I will come back, I will come back”. The player, however, did not even set a date, but the trend is that this will happen in the dispute of the Brazilian Championship.
Soon after the declaration that he would return, dozens of messages from Fluminense fans appeared on the “live”, asking for the promise to be fulfilled. The tendency is for Fred to actually return to the Rio club, but for that to happen he needs to settle the situation with Cruzeiro, who does not intend to rely on his football, but has financial issues to resolve with the athlete.
The attacker managed to terminate the contract with Cruzeiro on February 29, through an injunction in court. But the player's representatives and Fluminense still do not feel confident of signing a new agreement and prefer to wait for a new hearing, still without a date set. The Regional Labor Court of Minas Gerais (TRT-MG) is closed until the end of March, due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus, and this may delay the settlement a little more.
On the last 13th, the president of Fluminense, Mário Bittencourt, had already made clear the interest of the club in hiring the player. “We are going to bring our idol back home. That's what we want, the fans want and I'm sure he wants it too. I imagine he can return, but only for the Brazilian Championship. We are looking forward to resolving it with Cruzeiro, ”said the manager.
