Aeronauts of the airlines Latam and Gol accepted the proposals to reduce wages by up to 80% for three months. The companies were hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, which closed borders and brought down demand for flights. In an online poll, which started on Tuesday at 9:00 am and ended on Thursday (3/26) at 4:00 pm, 97% of Latam's associated aeronauts approved the proposal presented by the company. The voting on Gol's proposal ended half an hour later, approved by 95.69%. The information is from the National Union of Aeronauts (SNA).
Latam's approved proposal, which should take effect in April, May and June 2020, covers all the company's aeronauts and guarantees a minimum of 20 monthly regulatory breaks, not necessarily on calendar days. As of the May payment, referring to the competence of the April month, the fixed remuneration (salary, plus seniority and equipment bonuses) will be reduced by 50%. In any case, a fixed remuneration of at least R $ 2 thousand is ensured.
According to the SNA, the criteria for determining, remuneration and payment of variable remuneration and the guarantee of employment for all crew members during the term of the agreement remain unchanged. The remuneration will be paid by the scale. The company can publish up to 10 reminders per month, and the monthly work schedule can be published 2 days in advance. The agreement may be terminated ahead of schedule, at the initiative of the company, should the situation return to normal. “The SNA clarifies that the other provisions of the Collective Labor Agreement and the Aeronaut Law remain unchanged, including the daily and food vouchers”, he said.
The Gol agreement guarantees a minimum remuneration of R $ 2,600 and the employment of all crew members during the term of the agreement. The company will be able to publish up to 10 reminders per month and the work schedule will be fortnightly and published two days in advance. Gol also designed a voluntary unpaid leave program, for at least one month and guaranteed return on the same contractual basis.
