Real Madrid and the Spanish Higher Sports Council (CSD) promoted this Thursday that the Santiago Bernabéu stadium becomes a large center for the provision of medical supplies aimed at the fight against the coronavirus, which will be delivered to the health authorities for proper distribution.
The CSD announced the initiative launched thanks to “close collaboration” between the two institutions, which it also includes the authorization of a current account of the Real Madrid Foundation to make donations.
All the material will be delivered to the Spanish health authorities, under the authority of the Government, so that “you can make optimal and efficient use of these resources, which are so necessary in the current health emergency”, explains the joint statement sent by the agency and by the club.
Real Madrid will provide entities and companies, especially those related to sport, with the possibility of sending financial donations or material to the center that they deem appropriate to deliver to the Ministry of Health. “This mechanism will be complementary to those that, with similar solidary purposes, the Government can activate”, reported the CSD.
The Spanish Ministry of Health will be, through the mechanisms that are already in operation and always under the supervision of the main center for sanitary supplies located in the Madrid town of Valdemoro, responsible for assigning donations to the neediest centers and entities.
