Yuvraj Singh was one of the greatest draws when the Indian Premier League began in 2008. New from his heroics at the 2007 WT20, Yuvraj and MS Dhoni were both outstanding Indian players in the arrangement, plus he deservingly got the icon player status for his home franchise Kings XI Punjab.

Yuvraj guided the team to the semi-finals in the maiden season, but things never really worked out there. He had to finally move out since he went back to the auction pool. A player of his caliber attracted enormous bids because he went to play teams like Pune Warriors India, Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), and Royal Challengers Bangalore, but never really tasted victory.

Talking about his stint in Kings XI Punjab on the Youtube station Sportscreen, Yuvraj said that the franchise did not do what he’d asked them to.

“I wished to run away from Kings XI Punjab… the management did not like me there… they did nothing I asked them to do… and when I left they purchased each of the players I was asking them to. I love Punjab, but I did not enjoy the running of this franchise,” the former India superstar stated.

Yuvraj Singh was a star performer for India in the 2007 WT20 along with the 2011 ICC World Cup. He was also part of the teams that played at the closing of their 2014 ICC WT20 along with the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.
